Mozambique Survey Methodology

This Mozambique articles present results from a media diary study carried out by the Kenya-based research firm Synovate/Steadman in Mozambique in 2009. The media diary is designed to capture information based on the population distribution of recent media consumers: “what are the demographics of those who have watched TV, listened to the radio, read a newspaper in the past week” as opposed to what percentage of the adult population has watched TV or listened to the radio.  The interviews are usually distributed in the major towns (areas of high economic activity) and their corresponding rural areas, given that regular media users are largely concentrated in these areas.

This survey is based on a sample of 1,988 adults selected in this way. The results should not therefore be regarded as representative of the total urban and rural population of Mozambique
